Open Call for 116 Gallery Rhythm, Color & Movement: Seeing the Music A Visual Exploration of Music
July 12, 2023 @ 8:00 am - August 2, 2023 @ 5:00 pm
Rhythm, Color & Movement: Seeing the Music
Wassily Kandinsky, a pioneer of abstract art, said “music is the ultimate teacher”. Stuart Davis said jazz was one of the things that made him want to paint, and he credited jazz with influencing the development of his vibrant style. Jackson Pollock’s action painting technique reflected the improvisation, freedom, and rhythm of the jazz music he loved. Show us your musicians, your singers, your smoky blues clubs, your abstract, anything that lets you see the music!
